This data service contains annual time series of CO2 emissions from fossil fuel combustion, a major source of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions.

New!!  April 2020: Release of April 2020 edition

The CO2 Emissions from Fuel Combustion database contains annual CO2 emissions from fuel combustion and related indicators for 190 countries plus regional aggregates. Emissions were calculated using IEA energy databases and the default methods and emission factors given in the 2006 GLs for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories. This edition includes annual data for 190 countries/regions, generally from 1960 (OECD) and from 1971 (Non-OECD), unless specified differently at the country level.

This service is updated three times a year with a progressively broader geographical coverage – in February, April and August/September - with the final edition with global data.

APRIL 2020 EDITION

In an effort to provide users with more timely information, with the April 2020 edition of the CO2 Emissions from Fuel Combustion database the IEA is releasing CO2 emissions for all OECD countries; all IEA Family countries (including IEA members, Association and Accession countries), as well as for any other country for which data up to 2018 have been already received and validated.
