New: A preliminary version of this online data service has been released early and provides data through 2011.

The Coal Information database contains comprehensive statistics on OECD coal production, supply and consumption as both raw data and an energy balance. Time series begin in 1960 for most OECD countries. It also includes for each of the 34 OECD member countries, details on coal trade by coal type and country per annum from 1978 onwards.

World supply data is available for individual countries and regional aggregates. Time series begin in 1960 for most OECD countries and 1971 for most non-OECD countries. Detailed consumption data for non-OECD countries is available in the Energy Statistics of Non-OECD Countries database.

In July, the OECD files will be updated with revisions and 2012 data; the world historical demand and supply series will be updated with 2011 information.
