Expanded Product Description
New: This is a preliminary version released mid-April and provides data through 2011. The final version and supply data for 2012 will be released towards the end of June.

The Energy Statistics of OECD Countries Internet Service contains two files: Basic Energy Statistics and Conversion Factors.

The first file (Basic Energy Statistics) provides energy supply and consumption in original units (1000 metric tons, terajoules and gigawatt hours) for various types of coal, oil, gas, renewables and waste, as well as for electricity and heat for 34 OECD countries and five regions. Definitions of products and flows, explanatory notes on the individual country data and net calorific values are also included. In general, data are available for 1960 to 2011 and supply estimates will be available for the most recent year (i.e. 2012) in June. Data for Estonia and Slovenia start in 1990, data for Hungary start in 1965 and data for the Czech Republic, Korea, Mexico and the Slovak Republic start in 1971.

The second file (Conversion Factors) provides the conversion factors that are used to calculate the energy balances.
